The weakening growth in the global economy in the second half of 2011 is expected to continue into 2012. The continued weaknesses in housing and labour markets on top of declining business and consumer confidence have further held back the pace of the recovery in the advanced economies. Meanwhile, growth prospects for emerging market economies have become more uncertain and bumpy, although expansion is expected to remain fairly robust, especially in economies with strong domestic activities.
